Duct Cluck!

Blondie did not care for the red felt saddle.  She wanted something flashier.  So now she's wearing duct tape!

At first she fussed with it, hid her head so the other girls wouldn't know it was her in that Outrageous Saddle!

But gradually she came around.

Some chicken crack was all it took to lure her back in with her girlfriends.
It's a flashy coat, to be sure, but it's stayed on all day and she does seem happier being with the rest of the flock.

And isn't she stylish?

Note:  Wednesday the 24th, still stuck!

This is too funny! I've been following along, and love the duct tape solution. My only question is -- how you gonna get it off? :)

Amy--

As I understand it, between shedding feathers and the dust it will collect, the saddle will come off on its own after a week or two. I'll let you know!

Here you go, chicken jumpers! They've got two versions, a felt one and a knitted one, if you feel ambitious. Kind of like a tabard with a hole for their head, and a front and back section that connect under their wings. http://littlehenrescue.co.uk/jumpers.aspx

Jo, you are one smart girl. It has to be your enriching family life as you grew up!

We separated our Roos from the hens. Hubby wanted to make soup out of them, but I made him fix up several old dog kennels for em.

I know, big heart - little brain. Right now we don't need chicks, so I couldn't see keeping the Roos in with the girls.

Glad she's back in with the flock.
