Pictures?

Aargh, Nikon says my camera shows "impact damage", i.e. it's not covered by warranty.  They want $105 to repair it and ship it back to me in a week to ten days.  Am I unreasonably believing that I should just get a new camera at this point?  Feedback, please!

(I barely posted this before I found the same camera on sale for about $150 and just went and bought it.  A bird in hand... well, I am an immediate-gratification kind of girl! --JH)

new camera. I went through that once, they shipped it back, and the camera still didn't work properly.

I had one repaired and was glad I did. I luv my old camera and still use it sometimes.

I did get a new camera because they had improved them so much. I use my old one when I'm scared of taking my new one somewhere.

Thanks for the feedback! Since the Nikon Coolpix S570 is the "old version" now, it's pretty discounted. I got the replacement for about $30 more than the repair estimate, and of course the big advantage was I had it in hand that very night! Took it to Chicago for the dog show and since it was the same model, all the functions were familiar.

We're back in business.
