A gift from the dogs

Yesterday evening, after supper, the dogs asked if they could go outside for a while.  They said they wanted to look for something for me for my birthday.  So of course I opened the door and sent them off into the darkness.

I realized after a while that I had not heard them lately, so I went to the door and simply called "Pup Pup!"

Around the corner of the house they trotted.

Ulani approached me and placed this at my feet. (It's not gross, but it is dead.)

It's a bunny.

Oskar stayed shyly behind Ulani, hoping I liked what they selected.

I exclaimed "oh!  Let me get some wrapping!"  Then I dashed outside with a gray garbage bag and scooped the bunny up.  "I'll just put it over here for now!  Thank you so much!" I said as I took the bun to the bin.

Then I came back in the yard and gave Ulani and Oskar big cuddles and snuggles for giving me a birthday gift.

Ahhhh...that's so sweet of the pups. Poor old bunny. Roux used to chase squirrels and I alwasy wondered what we would do if he ever actually got one. Such sweet hearts.

It makes me feel bad that I didn't get your card in the mail in time. The doggies beat me to it in the so thoughtful department.
Love to all of you,
mom
